New portrait bust  step by step sculpt........CHRISTOPHER LEE AS THE FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER!

I AM POSTING HERE  SOME STEP BY STEP PHOTOS OF CHRIS LEE AS THE MONSTER.

The commissioned to sculpt  him came from a collector and I thought that you would like to  follow me as I create the bust from start to finish and then creating the latex painted bust.

I hope you enjoy the show

NOT LOOKING FOR LIKENESS YET, JUST OVERALL FORMS

REFINING THE FORMS AND SEARCHING FOR THE LIKENESS...........

 STAY TUNES FOR PART TWO!

IN THE NEXT SERIES OF PHOTOS, I HAVE REFINED THE FORMS AND BEGAN SEARCHING FOR THE LIKENESS

OF CHRISTOPHER LEE.

FIRST  COMES THE ACTOR THEN THE CHARACTER.

THE TOOLS THAT I USE BEGIN TO  SMALLER  AND SMALLER TO TEASE THE LIKENESS OUT OF THE BASIC SHAPES.

I CONSTANTLY  REFER TO THE REFERENCE PHOTOS  OF  EVERY ANGLE TO MAKE SURE THAT I STAY IN SCALE WITH THE FORMS AND  FEATURES.

The make up can be tricky as in this character.

WORK SLOWLY, BUILD UOP THE LIKENESS  ALL AROUND THE FACE.

*DO NOT  FINISH THE NOSE BEFORE YOU FINISH THE MOUTH

* WORK ALL OVER THE FACE

*BRING UP THE LIKENESS ALL TOGATHER

SOME TIMES I LIKE TO TEST OUT SKIN TEXTURES  ON THE FACE.

NOTICE I HAVE CREATED SOME PORES ON THE NOSE.

THEY WILL BE WIPED OUT IN THE CORRECTING OF THAT FEATURE.

SEE YOU NEXT TIME IN PART THREE!

DANIEL

PART THREE

Well I have been working on refining the likeness for three days now (between other assignments).

More of laying on the creature make up

NOW IS THE TIME TO HIKE UP YOUR SOCKS AND HUNKER DOWN FOR SOME INTENSE DETAIL SESSIONS!

 STAY TUNED FOR PART FOUR!

PART FOUR!

WELL I FINISHED THE SCULPT.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH HOW THIS CHARACTER CAME OUT.

THE CHALLENGE WITH THIS PIECE WAS TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON WITH THAT VERY ODD MAKE UP.

AFTER REALLY STUDYING THE PHOTOS AND WATCHING THE MOVIE AGAIN, I DECIDED TO  TAKE EACH PIECE OF MAKE UP AND FINISH IT BEFORE I WENT ONTO THE NEXT PART.

I HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THIS LITTLE TUTORIAL, IT WAS FUN FOR ME TO CREATE IT.

BE WELL,

DANIEL
